How to use Moringa Leaf Powder

Moringa leaf powder can be added to just about anything you eat. It is a food, therefore, there is no “recommended” dosage.

Roughly, seven pounds of fresh Moringa leaves, will make one pound of Moringa leaf powder. 7 lbs. fresh = 1 lb. ground and dried. Most people will use between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon daily. Some people may use a lot more than that. Use your body as your indicator. Since dried Moringa leaves make a very “potent” powder, you should go s-l-o-w-l-y. Start out with a small amount, and increase it over time.
Moringa leaf powder can be effectively added to or used on:
– Smoothies
– Cole slaw
– Salad dressing
– Split pea soup
– Garlic butter
– Muffins
– Chip Dip
– Pancakes
– Mashed potatoes
– Potato pancakes
– Bread mixes

– Sliced tomatoes
– Herb teas
– Mayonnaise
– Cooked brown rice
– Vegetable Dip
– Green sauces.
– Guacamolé
– Casseroles
– Popcorn: just sprinkle it on, after the butter, and add sea salt if desired
– Pizza – as a topping
– Scalloped potatoes
– Garlic bread
– Corn bread
– Oatmeal
– Minestrone
– Cream of spinach soup
– Cream of broccoli soup
– Peanut butter
– Fruit juices
– Bruschetta

… and many more. The possibilities are endless. You will find ways to enjoy the goodness. Oh, so many ways.
Moringa leaf powder can also be used to make Moringa tea. However, the hot water poured upon the leaf powder will result in the loss of some important nutrients. It is better to ingest the whole leaf powder.

Healing Nopal Cactus

nopal-cactus

The Nopal Cactus, scientifically known as Opuntia Ficus-Indica, grows in the southern areas of North America. It has been used as a food and healing plant for thousands of years. The fruit (cactus fruit), stems and leaves are used as a food substance and as an extract in a multitude of medicinal remedies. The cactus is harvested and dried as a natural supplement. It is used medicinally to help clear the digestive tract, treat hangover, inflammation of the blood vessels near the heart, viral infections, and diarrhea, treat enlarged prostate and high cholesterol, prevent the absorption of insulin into the blood stream, and promote heart and liver health. It is also used as a diet pill to curb hunger pangs. Many have used Nopal cactus as a diet pill. The dried Nopal fibers can swell up to 50 times their dried size. This produces a temporary feeling of fullness. This helps those on a diet to eat less without resorting to chemicals that may have unpleasant side effects.
Nopal cactus is not only high in dietary fiber, niacin, and vitamin B; it is known to be a powerful antioxidant. It is also high in pectin and mucilage. Those are the two main components helping to reduce the glucose absorption in the intestinal tract. Studies link the consumption of Nopal cactus to lower glucose levels in some diabetes patients.

Boost Your Metabolism and Improve Your Health with Bitter Melon & Green Tea

For centuries Chinese and Japanese cultures have been knowing the secrets and enjoying the benefits of Green Tea and Bitter Melon. Numerous studies on the benefits of miracle green tea concluded that when you consume green tea and bitter melon you can help your body with cancer prevention, reducing hypertension, bringing down blood sugar levels, cutting down on cholesterol, liver protection, reducing atherosclerosis risks, inflammatory bowel disease prevention, diabetes prevention, antibacterial and antiviral functions, metabolism stimulation, anti-ageing, tweaking immune system functions, oral health benefits and stress-relieving properties. Imagine enjoying all of these benefits just by drinking green tea with some bitter melon powder every day.

Research suggests that green tea may prevent many types of cancer. Not only does green tea prevent the growth of new cancer cells, but some experts believe that it may even have cancer cell destroying properties. The antioxidant EGCG, that is, Epigallocatechin Gallate is the protective substance in green tea doing this good work. EGCG is a lot more powerful that Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Many studies show that bladder cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer and skin cancer can be prevented by drinking green tea regularly. It brings down the level of unwanted cholesterol and ups the “good” cholesterol levels. Diabetic patients can drink green tea to reduce blood glucose levels. Effects of hypertension can be considerably reduced. Drinking green tea helps oral hygiene as it kills plaque-forming bacteria. Some believe that green tea strengthens the immune systems and therefore protects us against different infections and diseases such as cold, flu, fever and diarrhea. Green tea is known to have anti-inflammatory properties and can even help prevent inflammatory bowel disease. Due to green tea’s metabolism stimulating properties, many dietitians are strongly advising its consumption for weight loss. Green tea is believed to burn fat and helps digestion.

Bitter melon’s applications in traditional medicine include killing bacteria, viruses, and some cancer cells, reducing inflammation, high cholesterol,  psoriasis and cleansing the blood. As most bitter-tasting foods, bitter melon stimulates digestion. This can be very helpful for people with sluggish digestion, dyspepsia, and constipation. So far 32 active chemicals have been identified in Bitter Melon, beta-sitosterol-d-glucoside, citrulline, GABA, lutein, lycopene and zeaxanthin.  Bitter Melons are rich in iron. They also have twice the beta carotene of broccoli, twice the calcium of spinach, twice the potassium of bananas, and contain Vitamins A, C, B1 to B3, Phosphorus and good dietary fiber.

The easiest intake for medicinal doses of bitter melon is as a tea. In combination with green tea you can enjoy all the benefits of both highly valued ingredients in a delicious and very nutritious cup of tea. Here is a safe link to try it for yourself – TRY IT NOW!

Remedies for Losing Belly Fat

Let’s admit first that there’s no miracle cure for stomach weight. Getting a flatter stomach requires effort and patience. First, we have to recognize factors in our life that contribute to stomach weight, and then  do what is necessary to reverse the situation.

1. Diet

Diet pills are not the answer. Rather, evaluate your eating habits and select healthier foods such as lean meats, fresh  fruits and vegetables, beans and nuts, instead of the sometimes more convenient high calorie and high fat fast foods. Cut back on sodium, which  can lead to fluid retention, and alcohol consumption, which can  slow your metabolism.
Eat breakfast to jumpstart your metabolism in the morning. Then have small meals and snacks through the day to keep your body fueled. This will also keep you from bingeing when you get too hungry and cut back on cravings. Two to three hours before bed should be your last meal for the day. Eating any closer to your bed time will just keep you from getting a good night’s sleep.

2. Sleep

We all need our sleep to recharge and get back to work the next day. Even though, sleep may seem like a luxury sometimes, it is a necessity. Too little sleep over long periods of time will lead to weight gain, especially around the midsection. Besides the weight gain, lack of sleep can lead to other health problems, aches and pains. Aim for 7-8 hours a night, at least most nights.

3. Physical Activity

You knew this was coming. To speed up weight loss and get flatter ab muscles, a regular  exercise routine is a must. High-impact and low-impact cardio workouts burn fat and calories,  and help to shed belly fat. Just ab or core  exercises are not enough to sculp a slimmer, more defined  mid-section. Work out with resistance bands or weights will build lean muscle, speed up your metabolism and even strengthen your bones, ladies. Try different exercises such as Pilates and certain dances, like salsa, samba,  belly dancing, to target the abdominal muscles. Exercise at least 90 minutes a  week, more if possible. Keep it fun, that will make it easier to stick with it.

4. Increase Your Fluid Intake

Something as simple as drinking water can help with weight loss. Fluid retention, often brought on by a high-sodium diet and certain prescription  medications can add several pounds to your body, especially in the abdominal region. To lose water weight and slim the stomach, increase your  fluid intake. Water is best, and it works as a natural diuretic. Caffeine, in moderation, can also work as a diuretic, and flush excess fluids  from the body. 2 to 3 cups of green tea a day will speed up your metabolism. Drink about eight glasses of water a day to combat extra weight. Combine green tea with bitter melon for even greater results and more benefits.
